Texas A&M football is an experience that you do not want to miss during your time in Aggieland. The tailgate starts early in the morning and is an exciting time to get together with friends and cheer on your Aggies.
One unique aspect of Aggie tailgate is that people from across Texas and across the country come to cheer on our boys. It brings a smile on my face when I walk by tailgate tents from Class of ’77 and Class of ’86 etc. The tradition and culture in Aggieland is real and something to experience. Once tailgate is over, it is time to head to Kyle Field where you will stand next to greater than 50,000 of your fellow Aggie brothers and sisters cheering on our Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and football team.
Hopefully you’ve been to Midnight Yell and learned some of the yells so you can fit right in when the yell leaders begin with their crazy hand movements trying to explain what yell is next. The atmosphere of Kyle Field is contagious, you are immediately immersed in the yells and cheering (even though you may now know the rules of American football). Words cannot explain this incredible experience, even as a graduate student. I highly recommend you purchase your ticket and/or buy a sports pass from a friend or on Facebook to enter into Kyle Field at least once before you graduate.
Thanks and Gig’em,
