As a 0 background beginner, I’ve been practicing yoga for a year now. Whether it’s during the day or at night, this exercise helped me to relax my muscles and restore my energy. For me, a 45-minute to 1-hour yoga class is an appropriate amount of exercise. I’ve found several places on or around campus that have free or low cost yoga class available to students. You can see if they can fit into your schedule:
1. Group exercise at the REC

REC center offers a variety of group exercise classes, and almost every weekday, there is a yoga class at night (usually around 8pm to 9pm). They are open to all levels. You can buy a semester pass ($60/semester) that will allow you to participate in as many group exercise classes as you want throughout the whole semester. Or, you can choose to buy a class pass each time for $5. The REC provides mat and block; all you need to bring are student ID, water bottle, and your towel.
2. Bhakti Yoga Club

This is a student organization that hosts weekly yoga session on Friday (usually at 7pm in Rudder Tower). It’s open to all levels. You can try the class for free for the first time, and their semester membership fee is $10. Bring your own mat and water. RSVP is required, and look for a TAMU mass email that has schedule and exact location in it.
3. Community Outdoor Yoga at Lake Walk Town Center

This is a weekly free yoga session open to the public of all levels and ages. They meet every Saturday at Lake Walk Pavilion in Bryan at 8am. The class is on grass so you will need to bring your own yoga mat and water.
