Joint PVAMU-TAMU Professional Development Series

In an effort to expand the opportunities available to our graduate and professional students and strengthen our ties between universities within the Texas A&M University System, the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies at Texas A&M University – College Station and the Office of Graduate Studies at Prairie View A&M University present the inaugural event of a Joint PVAMU-TAMU Professional Development Series.

Description: The Career Center at Texas A&M University and the Career Services Office at Prairie View A&M University present Networking & LinkedIn. Networking is a vitally important skill for all Aggies and Panthers. After graduation, it is estimated that 80% of jobs are never posted. Learn how to reach this job market through networking and using LinkedIn as both a research and networking tool. The session is from 4-5 pm. After the session, please join us for a reception from 5-6 pm where you can practice networking with your fellow graduate and professional students from Texas A&M-College Station and Prairie View A&M.

Attire: Business casual attire is strongly encouraged.

Free transportation from TAMU will be available for up to 50 TAMU students. All students attending the event (regardless of their means of transportation) must submit a risk release form to the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies (see link below).

Bus Pick-Up/Drop-Off Location:
100 Throckmorton Street (Vice President’s Residence) – Between the University Center Parking Garage and the Vice President’s Residence along Throckmorton Street

2:20PM    Bus Check-in begins near 100 Throckmorton Street
2:40PM    Bus seats will be opened to the waitlist
2:45PM    Bus departs TAMU at 2:45PM SHARP
3:45PM    Bus arrives at PVAMU
4:00PM    Networking & LinkedIn session
5:00PM    Networking reception
6:15PM    Bus departs PVAMU
7:15PM    Bus arrives at TAMU

Parking Information:
We encourage all students to use the free transportation provided by TAMU. For those students needing to drive themselves:

  1. You are still required to provide a signed risk release form (see below)
  2. If you have a TAMU parking permit, you may park in Lot 92/93 – see the map
  3. If you do NOT have a TAMU parking permit, please stop at the Visitor Information Center for instructions on parking – see the map
