Salute to Graduate and Professional Education Week

Join us for our Salute to Graduate and Professional Education Week. The week’s events will feature awards ceremonies to highlight excellence in graduate and professional studies and culminate with a “State of Graduate and Professional Education at Texas A&M University” address. 

Each event will broadcast here via YouTube Premiere for anyone to watch live. We will post the YouTube links for later viewing after each premiere's conclusion.

State of Graduate and Professional Education Address

Thursday, October 22nd, 2020 11:00am-12:00pm CT 
The State of Graduate and Professional Education Address will update our community on the current state of Graduate and Professional Studies at Texas A&M, sharing some of the recent developments, challenges, and successes of our office, degree programs, and graduate and professional students, as well as our vision for the future. We will also announce the Montgomery Award recipient, exciting changes to the George W. Kunze Endowed Graduate Award, a new award generously provided by the family of longtime Senior Associate Vice President in the Office of the Vice President of Research, Carol J. Cantrell, and a dedication of the Diversity Excellence Fellowships to Texas A&M’s first Hispanic and Black doctoral degree earners, Dr. Dionel Avil├ęs ’53 and Dr. James Johnson ’67.


2020 Distinguished Dissertation and George W. Kunze Endowed Graduate Student Awards Ceremony

Four awardees whose dissertations represent extraordinarily high-level scholarship and make a significant contribution to their field of study will be honored this year. In addition, the George W. Kunze Endowed Graduate Student Award will be given in the name of longtime Texas A&M Graduate Dean George W. Kunze to recognize one doctoral student’s outstanding scholarly work.

2020 Association of Former Students Distinguished Graduate Student Award Ceremony

This year, eighteen graduate students earned Association of Former Students Distinguished Graduate Student Awards in one of two categories: Excellence in Research-Doctoral and Excellence in Teaching-Masters and Doctoral. 

2020 U.S. Senator Phil Gramm Doctoral Fellowship Award Ceremony

The U.S. Senator Phil Gramm Doctoral Fellowship was established to promote, encourage and reward outstanding teaching and research by doctoral students whose command of their respective disciplines exemplifies the meaning of scholarship and mentorship in the highest sense. This year, Graduate & Professional Studies will be honoring seven exceptional graduate student recipients of the Gramm Doctoral Fellowship.
