Graduation FAQs

Can I choose who will hood me at graduation?

Approximately one month prior to the Doctoral Commencement Ceremony for a given semester, applicants for graduation will receive an email from doctoralhooding@tamu.edu with detailed information about the hooding process.
 

I applied for graduation but will not be able to graduate. What do I need to do?

Students who have completed all degree requirements will not be allowed to cancel their graduation. Students who are not meeting degree requirements can submit a Graduation Cancellation Form to Graduate & Professional School.
 

I have questions about graduation. Where do I find information?

For questions about graduation, please refer to the Texas A&M University Graduation website.
 

I’m attempting to apply for graduation and I’m getting an error message that says “No Curricula.” What do I do?

Please contact Graduate & Professional School for assistance. You can call 979-845-3631 or email gradprocessing@tamu.edu.
 

What are the requirements to clear for graduation?

Students are cleared for graduation once all requirements have been completed. These requirements include the following steps:
• Apply for graduation via the Howdy Portal.
• Register for the current semester (or previous semester for early clearance).
• Pass the oral defense.
• Turn in the Thesis Approval or the Dissertation Approval form.
• Turn in the Copyright and Availability form.
• Complete all necessary corrections requested by Thesis & Dissertation Services.
• Submit (if necessary) the Permission to Use Copyrighted Material for previously published work.
• Submit (if necessary) permission for figures and tables, or indicate that a Fair-Use Checklist was done.
• Complete the AAUDE and SED Agreement forms (Doctoral only).

Texas A&M Set to Host Young Scientists Selected to Participate in the 2024 Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

Per an agreement between the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings and Texas A&M, the university is set to support 21 exceptional undergraduates, graduate students and postdocs, eight of whom are Aggies, to attend the upcoming annual 73rd Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau, Germany from June 30 - July 5, 2024. On May 16 and 17, Texas A&M will host these 21 scholars for a pre-Lindau Meeting preparatory workshop. They will be joined by an additional 11 young scientists supported by Amgen, allowing for an intellectual exchange between all 32 individuals.
